1946 Ford 1 ton rat rod build update 2020
Переглядів 2,4 тис.4 роки тому
Here are some updates to the rat rod/jalopy I built in 2015. ua-cam.com/video/m47T90Yqmv0/v-deo.html I added a grill, trunk, 4" copper drain pipe smoke stack. The suspension was changed a little in the front. I changed the tie rods to shorter ones, after I bent the drag link to make up for the offset.

The circle V-6 emblem, is was 60-1,and I hope I am seeing that right, but it looks like it has the torsion bar front suspension, which was used from 60-62.
On a previous post I said that I drove for REA EXPRESS in the 1960s. They had Lapeer trailers . Anyone ever hear of LAPEER TRAILERS? 🤔
I haven't
I have,we have a 45 foot trailer that we use for storage at the junk yard I work at that's a Lapeer.
I drove for REA EXPRESS in the 1960s. They had a lot of them. Box trucks and tractors. 🤗
That's cool!
Couple of burned valves maybe. It would be fun to rebuild.
Nice man. What strings you recommend for that EUB? I have one coming in a week. Wanting to play traditional country ala Buck Owen’s etc.
What Bass are you getting? I went with the innovation Rockabilly Red's. I used to have flat wound steel, which was fine. I just got a "new" EUB. a BSX Allegro, and it is such a nice bass.
cool build but that god-damn misic would drive an insane man crazy,,,
NNNOOO WHERE DID THE MUSIC GO ?
I still hear it.
I absolutely love the sound of a big ci V6 😍
It was pretty awesome!
Great engines I have a couple, along with a maxima. Where did u ever find one coupled to a 5 speed? Unbelievable 😍
I found it on Craigslist, someone put it in a Ford ranger, but didn't finish the project. Haha. It's the original Nissan 5 speed.
Bro- “Put some leather on bro” Dumb dumb-“ nah I’m good check me out”
I'm doing a 55 chevy truck flip with a CJ7 tub powered by a 454/auto
👍 Nice.
Now I'm inspired. Still have my 83 200x One of the funnest machines I've ever had. And watching reminded me of there was a time my front end was rarely on the ground also. 🤔 Glamis Y2k was the last time we were at the dunes. But she's been sitting for 18 years. Was considering a frame up rebuild. Now I'm inspired. Stay safe. It's rarely the machine that's the issue. ✌️🤠🏞️🐂
Awesome!
Sub d always will be a OG.
Sub D?
I thought at first glance it was an old Farmer John Meats truck, love those old 60-80 GM steel tilts, nice truck.
Hello mate, i cant beleive no one else has commented on this wonderfull engine. I have one myself which i have stored for many years, its now time to put in my truck. Do you run it with a lift pump? It seems to be missing on the truck its in. Probably why it wont start. Love the video when you took out a round the corner.👍👍👍👍👍👍
It's running in the car now no lift pump. Check my videos, it's in a sweet rat rod
@@DizzoMartell luvly , thanks for that. I'll check out your other video's👍👍👍 also mine used to run well on a mixture of 60 percent used cooking oil( I'm sure "hooters" will only be to pleased to give it to you), and the rest normal road deseil. It was dirt cheap to run, and sound pretty cool. The only reason I stopped using it was the chassis needed welding, and at the time I didn't weld. Any way thanks again for the info👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
@@liamhollin8265 what was your motor in? What kind of car?
@@DizzoMartell it's coming out of a realy early 2 door range rover, then it's going in me old defender, with the range rover getting a more original 215 cubic inch V8. After that, I shall restore the range rover and put it up forsale. I'l keep this nissan powered defender as a daily. Them nissan units are bomb proof.👍👍👍👍👍👍
Can you tell me more about this engine where they come from how many horsepower and such things. I was just given one of these I will look into your channel further.
It came from a 1984 Nissan Maxima. It has 80 hp. It came with a manual 5-speed RWD trans. I've seen some that have superchargers on them, but that's usually in the marine application. You can not adjust the fuel rate, so your options for turbo are limited.
@@DizzoMartell right on. Thanks for the reply. I watched the video of the build. Looks like quite the project.
@@lovesloudcars thanks! It was fun
@@DizzoMartell I built a 59 Chev Apache with a 353 Detroit engine 25 30 years ago. No rat rod, but as noisy. Posted a video of it, that's probably my most viewed one. My problem is too many projects!

Very kind words. Thank you. I make some metal critters out of tools and silverware when I have time. I think I have a couple videos on my page of making some. I need to make more videos doing that.

@@DizzoMartell very cool. I have a stack of rusted Mini parts. I wanted to first make a giant clock using the parts for the hours. I nearly had enough engine heads...but didn't. Still trying to make something. I bet you could do it with your eyes closed. Once a person refines their way of thinking it goes easy. I'm still suck on asking " Why would I think outside my box?...I'm used to it inside here". I've got a long way to go.
Very cool truck. There used to be a guy with that same color, that same truck but he had a roll back bed on it. Seems simple and cool.
Thanks. I wish I would've been able to make it into something. Ended up selling it
I have a question. Why did you flip the frame upside down? Then the leaf springs are upside down
Cheapest way to lower it. Springs just want to keep their shape. It works fine as it is. Look up "underslung suspension"
This is bringing back memories. I grew up around these guys my dad was close friends with them.

Agreed
I have a red heeler puppy. the vet says he might be deaf and another says he's selective. he wakes up to pots and pans but it takes me yelling for him to turn around and face me. idk whats wrong
I would try to train with a vibrating collar like I use. Treat train him. Buzz the collar, give a treat. do that a lot. Then he will associate buzzing with good and get his attention.
@@DizzoMartell yea kinda how I got to this video. I just don't want to rely on a buzzer collar if not needed
@@armyrunt01 I love the collar, it just vibrates. No need to yell. Just a quick buzz and he comes running or at least looks my way. He listens better with that collar than our other dog who can hear.
